For travelers who want to move on their own terms. Here are the routes, fares, budgets, and local rules we'd give a friend — and if something isn't clear, ask us directly below.

Getting around

  • •Puerto Princesa → El Nido: shared van 5–6 hrs, ₱600–₱900.
  • •Puerto Princesa → Taytay: van 4 hrs; continue to El Nido by van or tricycle.
  • •El Nido ↔ Coron: fast ferry ~4 hrs, book a day ahead in peak season.
  • •In town: tricycles are the default; agree on the fare before riding.

Route suggestions

  • •5 days: Puerto Princesa → El Nido (Tour A + Nacpan) → back.
  • •7 days: Puerto Princesa → Taytay (island hopping) → El Nido → Coron by ferry.
  • •10 days: add Port Barton and a slow beach stop with no tours booked.

Budget notes

  • •Group island-hopping tours: ₱1,200–₱2,200 per person with lunch.
  • •Environmental / eco fees are collected separately — keep the receipt.
  • •Meals: ₱120–₱350 at local carinderias; more at beachfront resorts.
  • •ATMs are limited outside main towns — carry cash.

Stay safe & respectful

  • •Check weather advisories; boats are cancelled during rough seas.
  • •Bring reef-safe sunscreen and take your trash back with you.
  • •Signal can disappear — download offline maps before you leave town.
  • •Ask permission before photographing people or private homes.
